Great Pour

The Good

  • Revisit TWD and play some of your favorite characters
  • Art style is really cool and fits a new game about the franchise
  • Tons of ways to progress in the game while interacting with the levels

The Bad

  • As exptected in a Beat 'Em Up, you can easily spam attacks to go through the missions and defeat enemies
  • Sadly no co-op mode

*Note that I did get a review key provided for the game.

The Walking Dead is back, by TrailMark Games, giving us a great side scroller with new mechanics to improve your characters and interact with the environment to not only blast or attack anything that is in your way. Loot whatever you can find and learn some of the secrets or find weapons and consumables.

The game is addictive to play and you just want to push forward, the game does to seem easy at points where you can spam attack zombies in close spaces such as door openings.

You can buy The Walking Dead Streets of Survival here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3777850/The_Walking_Dead_Streets_of_Survival/

Fight walkers as Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Michonne, and unlockable Negan in a brutal arcade brawler set in the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Face ruthless enemies like the Saviors and overwhelming walker swarms as you unleash relentless combos, signature weapon attacks, and crushing finishers.

The game follows the story of Rick, Daryl and Michonne in their battle against Negan. You’ll fight him, slow walkers but also boss zombies on your missions.

Check every corner and body though, because they will have knowledge, which you can turn into skill improvement for your characters. Next to that you can find other weapons and health kits as I mentioned above, you can stack up to 3 health kits and it takes time to use them, it’s not a one click usable, it takes a couple of seconds leaving you vulnerable.

My only thing was that you could spam your attacks to easily at certain points like door openings. The boss zombies did other attacks that you could only dodge and not counter by spamming your attack, so that was a welcome change. On the other hand, they’re walkers, they’re supposed to be slow.

You won’t only take on enemies with melee weapons, there are others that wear guns and aren’t afraid to use them; however, they do make noise and noise does attract the walkers to them as well. You might sacrifice one of the enemies to get away.

When you get back to your station, you are able to do all the skill progression per character, but also be able to see what kind of memorabilia you collected on your run, such as random pictures of people and more.

Overall I felt like the world was very interactive even though its’ a side scroller, it’s got enough nooks, crannies and barrels to jump over to not feel like a boring walk forth and back.
