Great Pour

The Good

  • Refreshing apocalyptic movie without horrors
  • Satisfying fight scenes
  • Shots of the plane flying gave a great feeling
  • Reminded me of Fallout: New Vegas story at one point

The Bad

  • Doesn't come without the standard cliches
  • Happy ever after ending

The movie doesn’t go without any of the cliches, of course there is going to be a little love story to the end of the world scenario. However, The Dog Stars feels refreshing and actually uses other examples from media that could be USA apocalyptic.

It follows the duo through their survival story and trying to find hope while being stuck in their old ways.

Two men and a dog with rifles in a post-apocalyptic setting.

The flying scenes are beautiful and they don’t come without thrill. And the story advances with far exploration, leaving no one behind.

The different tribes that you see in the trailer are well placed in the movie to add the feeling of not being alone, but not being chased by zombies or other monsters. It’s far more relatable and enjoyable to watch what it would be like.

Two people sitting by a campfire with a yellow airplane in the background.

Overall a good film I think everyone that loves this genre should watch.
