Bottled Tastes

Latin rhythms, techno, and drum & bass, across 25+ clubs in The Hague.

Starting off the night at the Kalvermarkt to get the wristband and see a modified Volkswagen van with DJ Kevix blasting tunes.

There was a lot of other things going on in the city as well: Culture Night, the Spotlight Festival, and on Friday and Saturday, Market Mayhem, a skateboarding event hosted at De Grote Markt with Adidas.

For Club Hopping, you could take the night rickshaw to other spots in the city center or even between cities, but the whole area was also very walkable. First stop: Kompaan, to catch Warekes.

After a nice Lef Gozer at the Kompaan and some great tunes, I moved on to de Gekke Geit, and in all honesty, I had never been there. It’s a small local bar that they’d turned into a big dance floor for Waveform Presents, with DJRos and Nobra on the decks. With good vibes and some Geitje house shots in us, we moved on to The Grey Space, where I linked up with my regular group of partygoers.

Royal Surf Club was hosting the evening and from BäRK‘s The Hague Gameboy city game (That you can play in your browser over here) where you wake up, and have to get ready for a line up for the evening in all different venues to the 5 DJs that were playing all kinds of tunes, there always is a big welcoming vibe here.

We tried hopping to other places as well, but the timetable was a bit tangled and things started later than scheduled, so by the end everywhere was full. Still, it was great to see the city bursting with life so late.

For next year, it would definitely be handy to have a big playlist on the Club Hopping website with some of the artists, to make it easier to plan where you want to go. But even without that, you can get surprised at every corner of the city.

The next Club Hopping will take place next year September 4th, 2027. To stay up to date with their event, you can follow their Instagram.

I’m going to try to get to even more spots next year, but in the meantime, try out one of the 25+ clubs you can visit on the weekends and explore more of The Hague!
