The Good
- Very unique game, nothing I've seen like it
- Fully added Steam Workshop for modding
- The management mechanics just work, I like how you get to see the inside of your car to load it
The Bad
- The game became quite repetetive in it's road encounters
- Don't understand the auto and manual driving, auto is right speed, manual is way too fast
*Note that I got a free key from the developers
Keep driving is a well thought out game that I didn’t know existed, it seems like a ton great management skills are needed if you want to go on the digital road trip of your life! I liked the start of it, but it quickly became a bit odd and tedious to me personally.
You can get Keep Driving on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2756920/Keep_Driving/
You start out with your first car and travel the country by yourself or with hitchhikers (Yes, you can pick up random people that will give you boosts). And you get to play road events, something which works a couple of times but I’ve had multiple repeat road events like the pothole ones that made it less exciting for me.
It’s like a road rage battle where with some of the events you get to pass cars or dodge them, I would have found it funny if ther was some actual combat with it where someone would get out of the car to fight with me, however I haven’t played that much time to know if it is or isn’t in there.
To continue your journey, you pick between towns or stops all over the map, with some missions popping up here and there that will get you to certain places with items you’ll need to find along the way.
The management mechanics of the game are superb, you get to fill up your car and glovebox with items you’ll need on the road, from gas canisters in the back to candy in the front to get your energy back in the road encounters.
Next to that you are also able to upgrade your cars’ tires, steering wheel and much more that you’ll be able to visually see on your car.
Overall I had fun in the game, but it did not keep me a interested a lot, I was unable to learn how to make money as well, I reckon you sell stuff, but I had just not found stuff to sell for enough money yet. The Gas stations are fun to check out, you get to upgrade everything and meet people on the road.
