Keen Software House is an Independent game development studio aiming to create games that are based on real science, real facts, real physics, and real emotions.

They want to use their games to promote science and to encourage creativity. They want to help foster an interest in space exploration, physics, history, and all STEM fields.

They want players to learn new stuff while playing their games. And I can second that next to a great game this is a very educational game.

Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration, and survival in space and on planets.

Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses (civil and military), pilot ships, and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive.

Featuring both creative and survival modes, there is no limit to what can be built, utilized, and explored. Space Engineers features a realistic, volumetric-based physics engine: everything in the game can be assembled, disassembled, damaged, and destroyed.

The game can be played either in single or multiplayer modes.

Jump into one of the eight campaign missions to learn how to be a space engineer. Follow a rich story set up in the game or try one out from the workshop. You can also create a custom game.

Or jump into the multiplayer with friends or join a public server. Here you can build up your space station and bizarre spaceships with multiple people, or make your own and defend.

The last update of Space Engineers brought in the Warfare, meaning that you also have access to guns to fight drones, small ships, and even other engineers. More content was added as well, which you can read more about here Space Engineers on Steam.

Players working on new stuff together

The new update called Warfare 1: Field Engineer provides you with new choices in how you create and destroy. Field Engineers is the first installment in the all-new Warfare content.

Warfare 1 doesn’t just focus on the Engineer, it also includes new blocks to outfit your base, space station, or fortress. Prepare your defense or lay siege like never before.

In the game, you also have the ability to create your own character, change up your character or tools. You can change the color, get more skins and emotes.

You can also recycle your skins for tokens that you can spend on other skins as well.

Character customization screen

There are a lot of options to change, however, they’re not really accessibility heavy, the only two options I found were having full button remapping and toggling V-Sync.

You can of course change the colors of your own engineer and your crosshair if you are color blind.
